Here is the perfect collection for the movie lover! The oft-requested "Warsaw Concerto," from the film Dangerous Moonlight; excerpts from Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2, including every music-cue featured in the classic wartime love story Brief Encounter; and Mozart's magical Adagio from his C major Piano Concerto No. 21 as used so memorably in the film Elvira Madigan. Listen to the soloist perform these in beautiful reference versions, then you take his place to perform these with full accompaniment in all their lustrous glory! Includes slow-tempo practice accompaniments of the Warsaw Concerto.

Since this kind of product has no competency, we only can enjoy the ability it grants to play along with an orchestra. Nevertheless, I will point out some details which could be improved. First of all, the digital orchestra (for the Warsaw concerto) is a slightly frustrating choice: if strings are Ok, winds (especially brass) lack of energy: could not MMO provide, in the future, a version with a live orchestra for such a wonderful piece ? Because the Warsaw concerto actually is a wonderful piece, which deserves it despite of not being recognized like that by the specialists. Each note we hear in it is necessary, each one has something to tell us. The tempi are acceptable, although I would have preferred a greater difference between the introduction and the lyric theme: I'll have to choose the -20% tempo version to get the speed I like in the lyric sections, although that will reduce the energy of the first theme. Finally, I do not see the utility of including large samples of RACH2

The Warsaw Concerto (even though it is a digital orchestra) is outstanding sounding, and the soloist does an excellent job. The Addinsell alone is worth the price of the CD. The Mozart is good, but the pianist has a very noisy left hand but then again, we buy these things to play along with an orchestra and not listen to the pianist. That said however, the Rachmaninoff is atrocious - same recording (except for cuts) as the MMO Rachmaninoff #2 - David Syme again. Silly tempo changes with lousy conducting. BUT, I bought this for the Warsaw Concerto and was extremely pleased.
