Composed by Joseph Andrew Marcello. Arranged by Pavane Music, Inc. Christian,Contemporary,Folk,Gospel. Score. 6 pages. Pavane Music, Inc. #2019581. Published by Pavane Music, Inc. (A0.903904).A spare but exquisite 3-verse setting of Christendom's most beloved folk-hymn, full of unexpected yet beguiling harmonic turns, with the second statement shifting the tune to the left hand with broken chord patterns above it, moving into a climactic fulfillment of the theme before closing. In its simplicity and humbleness, strangely moving.

Harpist
November 05, 2016
not well written for harp!
This 'arrangement' consists of the piano arrangement, with a new MIDI audio uploaded with a harp sound. It sounds pretty with the MIDI harp sound. That does not make it playable on harp. A real harp arrangement should have the pedal changes and fingerings marked in. The pedal changes needed to play this arrangement would be extremely awkward. Measure 47 is physically impossible; the arranger does not seem to know that harpists only use 4 fingers per hand, not 5. Measure 52 is impossible because it includes a note that is a third lower than the lowest note on the concert grand harp.
