Composed by Germaine Tailleferre. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score. 7 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3015069. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533541).
These two settings are the only known songs set to an English text by Germaine Tailleferre and date from 1934. Although Tailleferre's manuscript has disappeared, a photocopy was found in the papers of the late Italian singer and musicologist Patricia Adkins-Chiti, who kindly provided a copy which served as the source for this publication. We would like to publically thank her for this gesture which allowed these works to be published.
These two songs were premièred in Paris in 1934 by the French Soprano Anita Real with the composer at the piano. It has been suggested in Robert Shapiro's "Germaine Tailleferre: a Biblio-biography" (Greenwood Press 1994) that these setting were intended for a theatrical production, but no evidence has been found to prove this suppositio The Two texts are "In moments to delight devoted" subtitled "From the Portuguese:"Tu Mi Chamas" and "Remembrance" from Hours of Idleness.
This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global
self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular
titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
