Sebastian Lee (1805-1887) worked as a successful cellist and pedagogue among others. in Paris and Hamburg. His school works, etudes and duets are still used in lessons today. Numerous concert pieces for violoncello and piano from Lees feather are also to be found. The Gavotte op. 112 is an effective and multifaceted stylized dance that presents advanced students with challenging tasks. At the same time, the challenges of the instrument and its technical possibilities are oriented: For example, the fast sixteenth configurations are well "in hand", but at the same time produce a virtuoso effect.
