My daughter is a novice player and is doing very well using this book when she is home! Great source!

students don't like
Sorry, but I can't agree with other reviews. My students tried to like this book. Both kids and especially adults found it boring. The songs are minimized to one-liners which does not develop stamina. They get very confused playing along with the orchestra arrangements on the cd, so don't want to use that. The DVD is barely anything they say. My students enjoy the Suzuki books with ABCs of Violin. The cds are so much better. Best match up if students some want rote learning and good reading skills!
