difinitive collection
The is the best collections of the Bach Sonatas & Partitas, sparingly and carefully edited, and with a facsimile of Bach's original manuscript at the back. This music is really tough for me (advanced amateur)but I'm learning a lot with the help of a great teacher. It's wonderful Bach -- he makes a solo instrument almost into an ensemble...

Bach Solo sonatas and partitas
One of the most useful and accurate editions I have come across. The facsimile in the back is excellent as a cross reference, and the bowings and fingerings are the most logical and sophisticated that I have found, having used several editions in preparation for performances. One should consult different published sources of the work, as well as listening to many different recordings. I especially recommend the complete recordings made by Jascha Heifetz, Arthur Grumiaux, Nathan Milstein, and Itzhak Perlman.
