Looking for even more intriguingly beautiful intermediate violin holiday duets?
Dancing Into Bethlehem: Christmas Duets for Two Violins gives you a second volume of carols arranged for two violins that can be played for gigs, for special occasions, or just for fun!
Weaving melodies with accompaniment, Myanna Harvey has created a Christmas book to follow the very popular Sailing Into Bethlehem: Christmas Duets for Two Violins.
These carols are unique, including some rare gems; never overplayed, they have been specially curated to provide a backdrop to the magic of the Christmas season. Evocative of times past, they can bring warmth and elegance to any situation.
Playable, enjoyable, performable: these duets are a welcome addition to the Christmas chamber music repertoire.
Know any violists or cellists? You can pick up a copy of the viola book or the cello book and play with those instruments as well; the violin book is fully compatible with the Viola and Cello books!
This violin Christmas duet book is all in first position.

Beautiful and fun arrangements for intermediate up
Overall, this book may be on the mid to later intermediate side, which is why I called it intermediate/advanced instead of intermediate. It has a number of classical pieces in addition to carols (a couple of selections from Corelli's Christmas Concerto, the Nutcracker, and Messiah). I like having the variety of Christmas carols and Christmas classical pieces. The classical pieces can tend to have more accidentals and more complex rhythms, so those may be more on the late intermediate/early advanced side. However, there are also some carols that are less complex and easier for an intermediate player. Some of the carols do look on the difficult side visually, with eighth and sixteenth notes, BUT if you take the tempo moderately and notice the patterns you may be fine. So don't be frightened away by seeing a lot of notes close together! An adventurous intermediate with good reading skills may be able to also learn the more difficult pieces. Beautiful arrangements.
