Outstanding Work!
This is an outstanding Classical concerto, and should be played more often. The piano writing is advanced, but perhaps less difficult than any of Beethoven's concertos. The first and second movements have cadenzas, and the composer supplied his own for the first movement. The second movement needs to be improvised or written by the performer. The outer movements are buoyant and cheerful, with a slight military feel. The second movement is pleasant and not very deep. This edition is a full orchestral score and the print is a bit small to play from. It should be noted that this piece was later arranged by the composer as his Piano Sonata, Op. 33/3 (sometimes called Op. 36/3). The piano part is virtually identical, with minor differences in the final movement and the pianist leaves out interludes when playing with orchestra. Any pianist learning one version will have a piece they can use for two purposes. I highly recommend this piece. Technically very beneficial for any pianist.
