Chopin Polonaise op 40 no1 "The Military" Simplified version I have listed this as Advanced intermediate. The youtube link has the whole score for you to assess I have arranged this firstly in the key of G from the original A major for ease of reading. I tried to keep as much of the original as possible in terms of detail and some of the difficult notes within octaves and hard to reach chords have been carefully arranged or removed, yet I wanted to keep the power of this monumental work and take nothing away from it's purpose. What I wanted to do was to give intermediate pianists who were perhaps not quite ready for the full version, an opportunity to play a version of it, also for pianists who would appreciate a slightly modified approach.There is nothing greater than an octave stretch in either hand. I didn't want an "easy" version as such,but one that retains the qualities of the original- but not quite so demanding! It's a great piece to play and very heroic.
