An Excellent Set of Songs
This obscure set of songs was given to me originally by a pianist/coach who was helping me find pieces that took advantage of my high upper extension. They quickly became some of my favorite pieces, both to sing and to listen to. These songs are quirky and fun, and absolutely gorgeous. They have a romantic feel with a mid-20th century twist, and are very, very french. Translations are hard to find, but the poems are funny and a little trippy. For very high voice; very challenging; harmonically interesting.
