British composer Sir Edward Elgar (1857-1934) composed Chanson de Nuit & Chanson de Matin, Op.15 in 1889-90. Originally scored for solo violin and piano, he later orchestrated both works for orchestra. The orchestral version was premiered at Queen’s Hall in London on September 14, 1901.
