Great for Soprano Recorder
Great songs that sound wonderful on a soprano recorder (or probably a C tin whistle). Lots of music for the money; very good value. Advanced beginners can play a lot of it, but to add the appropriated ornamentation you'll need to intermediate or better.

lovely listening, but ....
I had trouble splitting the tracks for performance, so sometimes playing along sounded discordant. I wish that all the play-alongs separated demo and performance trax (like Alfred's play alongs - I have enjoyed them). Not everyone can cut off one speaker. And the violin part comes out of the opposite speaker than other play along trax from other makers. The album itself, however, I play frequently because it is a lovely listen. For purists, quite a few of these songs were written by the compiler and not old. They are in Celtic style but weren't played 100 yrs ago.I do think it was a worth the money to increase my range of skill and style.

I love it!
I'm in love with this book, very enjoyable for beginners like me, just enough challenging to avoid boring playing and easy enough to enjoy each piece quickly!

Enjoyable music
Coming from a classical background, I'm not very familiar with Celtic music. I love beautiful melodies, though, and this book hits the spot. These songs are not challenging, but so enjoyable. A lot are in minor keys and not played particularly fast. The guitar accompaniment is a refreshing change but wish they had recorded all repeats and put it on a separate CD. Well worth buying.

Celtic Mjusic for Violin
I liked playing the whole book and enjoyed the accompanient of the classical guitar because it made the music complete. Usually CD's come with canned music with too much drum etc.The music had some easy pieces and some you needed to watch your counting and beat.

Great book, empty CD
I bought two copies of this book, one for my wife and one for her friend. One had a CD that worked just great, once I disconnected the right speaker to silence the guitar (my wife wanted to hear the violin only). The other CD was blank. My computer indicated it was unformatted. Thankfully, I did get two copies, so I had at least one good CD. My wife does enjoy playing the songs with the violin tracks.

Celtic Music for Violin
While the music if very good, the book is sold as intermediate. I bought it for my highschool son, who I consider intermediate, but in truth this music is better for the beginner in my opinion. It doesn't seem to have any challenges except perhaps working with the timing.

super
I needed this music quickly for a performance. The music came on time and was fun to play but hard to keep track of as far as accompaniment. It took me a while to realize the track number for accompaniment is numbered differently then the page numbers of the book and the pieces do not have numbers.

Very happy with product
This music is fun to play and really motivated me to want to play more often. Getting the technique down was somewhat difficult but the notes are not hard. The speed of some of the pieces took some practice but I found myself wanting to play more than ever with this book and would strongly recommend it for other intermediate players.

ok, fits the music for description
Highly recommend this. Not too easy but not so hard I couldn't play it. The music with CD is of a high calibar and I can use this to play in public when I don't have accompanyment.Sure is 5 stars!

Great Celtic Music Book
This is a great Celtic violin music book for beginner to Intermediate violin players. The songs in the book were exactly what I was looking for. Many beautiful Celtic melodies. I have only been playing for 6 months, and the songs are easy enough for me to play and enjoy. I highly recommend buying the book. The two things that would make the book better is to have bow markings, and a few more faster songs.

Celtic Music for Violin
Quite a vast collection of music in one book. Not too difficult to sight read through. Some of the pieces could be played or learned by beginners or early intermediate. Great fun. Worth buying.Would like to see some Gaelic music on the site.
