They come from traditions including Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and Manx, and were gathered from various sources: among others, manuscripts written for bagpipe, lute, mandora, fiddle, and voice. Love the duo...
I loved everything about the music and the musicality of the instruments! The reason I gave 4 stars was because I was looking for a CD play-along that was similar to others I had recently purchased. According to the detail page, a flute player could play along with the guitar by just switching the stereo's balance. I think that technology is dated, as I was unable to do that with any of my CD players. If the publisher could record a separate track with guitar/accompaniment only, as many other companies do, I would be willing to buy that CD. It is perfectly enjoyable to play along with the flute player, but being unable to play as a true duo with guitar only was a let-down.

Absolutely Wonderful !
I have been playing flute in a community band for 25 years and this book is probably The Best book I have ever purchased. The songs are beautiful and the accompanmient tracks work very well whether you play along with the flute or prefer to play as a soloist . There are a variety of songs , some for beginners and some a little more advanced, but nonetheless , appealing to all ranges of ability.

Sprightly and Cheerful
This is the follow-up to the first Celtic Music book and it is a fantastic collection. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to change up from their classical studies or jazz studies. After you have learned the music, you can easily mould and manipulate the speed and notes for your taste... and it will still sound great. I play for various art and cultural societies around the city, and this is the music I get paid for. It's really amazing:) Adults and children, especially, love the lilting and easy-listening style of this music, and I absolutely love playing the songs.

What great music and a wonderful learning tool. Some songs are a bit challenging, but the extra practice is well worth it. I would highly recommend both volume l and 2.
