Beginning Piano Technic
This is the book that is supposed to precede Scale Skills:, however I have my students do this and the prep level of Scale Skills concurrently. The first exercises are great for teaching by rote. They are simple but great for having the student pay attention to hand position and can be adapted to practice legato or staccato.
