Composed by Anja Goller. 20th Century,Concert. Score. 14 pages. Anja Goller #5954707. Published by Anja Goller (A0.901564).
I had the first ideas for this sonata back in 2010 and finally managed to actually compose it in 2013.
The first movement was inspired by the beginning of the first sonata written by Beethoven (Op.2,1) but I can't remember how exactly. The movement was further inspired by Prokoviews d minor sonata, as well as the middle part of the 3rd movement. The idea (improvisation) for this one was originally in g# minor but to match the rest I changed the key. The 2nd movement is supposed to be the calm spot in the quite sad and angry sonata. It contains a tiny little part that might remember you of the 2nd movement of Dvoraks piano concerto. I realized that after finishing the movement but left it.
In the last movement I toyed around with moving through many different keys which turned out pretty good, at least I think it did. All of the movements are connected to each other by citing themes of other movements.
I said that the sonata is sad and angry. It honestly wasn't supposed to be. I realized that much later when I played it.
Still it is one of my favourites amongst my own compositions.
Level is advanced intermediate.
