Love this book!!
I've been searching for ages for collection of classics/folk songs or even camp songs for guitar for a family reunion. This is the best! Just the melody with the guitar chords. Exactly what I wanted, and I love the songs! The chords are easy too, in case you're not a serious guitarist, lol.

Americana Classisc.
The email I received gave the impression that we would be able to strum along with the songs in the book. There is no link to a place with these songs in the key in which they are written. I have other Hal Leonard published books that have all of the music on-line so I can go to them and play along. Since these are called strum along books I fail to understand why we cannot strum along. We are expected to find the songs on-line but they are not in the original key so this is not possible. If you wish these to be strum along you should provide the music on-line in the key written, so we can do so. I was very disappointed when I saw what I had purchased.

Didn't have the song in the original key
The book is generally quite good. The typeface is nice and big. It is very well laid out. The chord diagrams are in the left side and the pitches, lyrics, and chords are on the right side of the page.I really wanted it to see the melodic pitches to On the Road Again. The book was helpful for that. Under the title of the song, the book says Words and Music by Willie Nelson. But Willie Nelson sings it in E major on his recording and in his live concerts. So why did Strum Together set it in C major? The song has a pretty wide vocal range (a perfect 11th). Perhaps the editors wanted to start the song lower so that singers wouldn't strain on the top notes? It's not to avoid playing a barre chord on the guitar. I would really have much preferred it if the editors had left the song in Willie Nelson's original key, allowing the performer to transpose the song as needed.

GREAT Book!
These Strum Together books are really the cream of the crop! The song selection is varied, and fun... truly something for everyone. Moreover, the lay out is perfect with the chord charts for all of the stringed instruments on the left side of the open book, and the song on right side. I own both books in the series, and look forward to more from this author! I HIGHLY recommend these books!
