3 Pieces from Franz Lehár's operetta Die Lustige Witwe/The Merry Widow. Arranged for Violin and Piano by conductor Esther Bobrova Lange. These arrangements are based upon the song texts of the operetta and the character of the music. The famous melodies are equally balanced between violin and piano. Further, I have enlarged the arrangements with both rhythmical and melodious variations in the style of Franz Lehar. The bowing in the violin part is written by Arne Balk-Moeller, associate violin professor at the Southern Danish National Academy of Music, who also took into consideration the text and the music of the operetta. The nuances and articulations in both violin and piano are written according to the original vocal score. (Esther Bobrova Lange).
