The pieces in this book are great for needing hymn based music that is easy and quick to learn.

Very elementary
This would be a good book for a young beginner or for a pianist who has been forced to the organ bench without organ training. For a seasoned organist it offers neither interest nor challenge. While it offers a broad range of good recognizable music for a church service, the arrangements are very straight forward with very little ornamentation or variation on the melody.

Especially good for seniors
I find the book particularly useful for services in seniors' homes, where the residents prefer to hear well-known hymns. The arrangements aren't difficult to play but take advantage of the ability to easily solo melodies in the right and left hand on the organ. The pedal parts are generally confined to the lowest octave and are thus playable on even the smallest instruments. The spiral binding is great!

I Love This Book
I am returning to the church organ after about a 30 year layoff. I was looking for music that is easy to play but familiar songs. This is my go to book when I don't have a lot of time to practice. Most songs require very little practice but sound great on Sunday morning.

A Good Collection
Aa a pianist, now organist, this has been helpful! Many songs need little practice and you have your Prelude ready for Sunday. Some of the others need more practice time, but are play worthy. Glad I made the purchase. Can be used throughout the church year, which is a plus. I have had positive feedback (from a very conservative Methodist congregation) when I play from this book. If you are advanced, and have been playing a long time, this might not be the challenge you are looking for. I play on a 2 Manual Allen, and all works out well.

Falling apart
The book is great and was a replacement for one I lost. However, the binding on this new copy fell apart immediately and all the pages are now loose.

Love this music book
I had 20 Services for the Church Organist for over 20 years and used it all the time. It was used so much that it was falling apart so needed to order a new one and was very happy that it was still published. Now I am back playing the organ for services and so happy to have this music to use. It even tells you what to play for certain season's of the church service.
