Composed by William Byrd. Arranged by Frank Stubbs. This edition: pdf. Chamber, Early Music, Historic, Medieval, Renaissance. 24 pages. Frank Stubbs #814688. Published by Frank Stubbs (A0.1218206).The secular madrigal written by William Byrd on the death of his mentor amd colleague Thomas Tallis. Origionally written for 5 voices (usually 4 Viols and Countertenor) arranged here for Brass Quintet. Byrd uses the medieval 'Dorian' mode throughout the piece. The 2 Trumpet parts sound great on Flugelhorn. I have added an optional Trombone part doubling the Horn if a Horn isn't being used.
A fantastic addition to the Renaissance repertoir for Brass Quintet.
