These four Canzoni (Ch. 186, 187, 188 & 189) are each around 3 minutes in length and are suitable for advanced performers. Part one can be played on alto trombone or a tenor by a performer with a strong high register (alto and tenor part is supplied).
These works are beautiful little gems, each showing magnificent imitative counterpoint (also called Fuga Colorata) with each part playing an important role in the composition. They are fun to perform and to listen to as well.
