The Northern Islands off the coast of Scotland are a land between worlds. These beautiful islands are marinated in the language and mythologies of Scotland and Norway. Rugged and isolated, they support a rich population of sea and birdlife and at one time supported a thriving Neolithic culture whose stone monuments and settlements date back 5000 years. Inpsired by this geography and history, each of these seven short pieces is based on something from this heritage- archelogical and geographical sites, stories, legends, customs and traditions.
