The left stays within the C pentachord and the right hand steps outside of the pentachord. Most students can do this with a combination of "playing by ear," and visual notation. Note names have been placed on most of the pitches. I've taught these tunes by rote and reading to beginners with less than three piano lessons and appear grateful that they can hear results in such a short time. .
