Where Is Love? by Lionel Bart Piano Solo - Digital Sheet Music

By Lionel Bart

This solo piano arrangement of 'Where Is Love?' from the legendary musical Oliver! is a great exercise in building an advanced harmonic arrangement around a repeating left-hand motif. The main theme is maintained as true to the original in the right hand, making it familiar and enjoyable to play while also quick to learn (due to the former parameters mentioned). It makes a great study piece for practicing harmonic change, and transposing that pattern to different keys. For this same reason, it would be more suited to an intermediate player if used for sight-reading. As per the attached audio performance, it also works as part of an ensemble due to its somewhat jazz-oriented chords and a motif that generally 'breathes' modestly. Contextualizing this wonderful song into an arrangement that is very much scale oriented, with minimal large intervals in unexpected places, is something that I hope will generate accessibility for new players who love this tune in kind.
