Two contrasting fugues by Franz Schubert. Composed at age 15 while studying with Antonio Salieri in Vienna. Fugue in G major in 2|2 is the shorter (about 2:30) and is a bit faster. Fugue in D minor in 3|4 is longer (about 4:30) and more majestic. Each has a memorable subject and interesting harmonies in its development.
