Tríptico de la Luz (Triptych of Light), In memoriam Miquel Llobet, is a spirited classical guitar work composed after reading Pablo d’Ors’ enlightening “Biografía de la Luz”. Inspired by a mystical understanding of the gospels, this piece interconnects three movements that explore the mystery of Being through the guitar’s magical spell, including continuum effects, abounding counterpoints and fiery flamenco techniques.
I. “Nacer del Silencio” (Born from Silence) is a sinuous and vivacious prelude that portrays Presence as a resonant and vibrant entity.
II. “Atravesar el Desierto” (Traverse the Desert) is a “tour de force” fugue that deepens into the shadows of the unconscious to reveal our most hidden truths.
III. “Saltar a la Realidad” (Jump into Reality) is a fiery finale mouvement permeated by a bulerías “compás” inviting us to embrace Oneness as the ultimate reality.
Tríptico de la Luz was awarded the 1st prize at the 5th edition of the Certamen Llobet Composition Contest 2024 (Festival Internacional de Guitarra de Barcelona).
The world 's premiere video recording of “Tríptico de la Luz” released by Certamen Llobet was performed by classical guitarist Jacob Cordover and engineered and edited by Izan Rubio at the patio of L’Antic Convent de la Puríssima (Tortosa).
