And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;

Prepare to Have Your Life Changed
This song is definitely the most beautiful, and my favorite, choral piece I've ever sung. The first time I heard it, I was stunned. Sara Teasdale's poem is pretty provoking by itself, but Ivo Antognini sets it to music so well. Especially memorable are the whistles that one of the choir members will do during the robins will wear their feathery fire whistling their whims on a low fence wire. Hearing it for the first time, all the hair on my arms stood up. Then by the end, with the statement of and Spring herself when she woke at dawn would scarcely know that we were gone, the whistle returns. It's heartbreakingly beautiful.This piece is fairly difficult to learn but more difficult to perform well, because intonation must be spot on, and [most importantly] communication must happen. But if you commit to make this piece special, it is oh so rewarding to have performed. It makes you really think, and in my case, it changes your life.

Beautiful piece!!
Sara Teasdale's poignant text is set masterfully by Swiss-Italian composer Ivo Antognini. Evocative, lush, carefully crafted---I highly recommend this piece!
