a rediscovery
One of those deceptively simple masterpieces; poetry and melody seem to have been born together. Notes are easy; thoughts are not!I sang this as a beginning voice student fifty years ago, in the lower setting. Now, singing seriously again at a much later age, I'm enjoying a high voice I never dreamed I had. Butler in WB Yeats is spelled wrong on the first page. My other gripe would be with packaging; it and the album of French songs, ought to have been protected with a couple of sturdy boards in the parcel. Corners, edges of both were crumpled and bent. But, since scores suffer over time, one can be philosophical about it...happens to humans, too!
