This is the opening piece of the three part "Time Cycle" for tenor voice, Bb clarinet, and piano. It is also written for voice, piano and French horn. These pieces are very difficult especially for the pianist and intended for professional or very good amateur musicians. The other two pieces in the "Cycle" are "Time Mocks Thy Opening Music" and the most difficult of the three, "High Noon.".
