"The British Grenadiers" is a marching song for the grenadier units of the British military1. The tune of the song dates from the seventeenth century and is the Regimental Quick March of the Grenadier Guards, the Honourable Artillery Company, and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers1. The song is played during Trooping the Colour, regardless of which regiment is on the parade ground2. The origins of the tune are not known, but it is believed to come from the Dutch martial tune "De jonge prins van Friesland" or "March of the young Prince of Friesland".
