The song shows the origin of the eponymous ‘hunchback’, Quasimodo, as told by Clopin, the ‘King of the Roma’. Quasimodo is born to a group of Roma attempting to smuggle into Paris, but are apprehended by the film’s antagonist, the judge Frollo.
I attempted to capture the original Disney version in this arrangement, with vocal lines given to soli instruments across the orchestra. This challenging arrangement features a large orchestra, complete with optional organ.
