T.B. is a large-scale, three-part work for solo violin and orchestra, conceived to combine virtuosity, lyricism, and structural clarity within a balanced dramatic framework. The composition follows a broad ternary form, allowing for strong contrast while maintaining cohesion across its sections.

The opening section presents the solo violin in a brilliant and technically demanding role. Rapid passagework, wide-ranging figurations, and expressive shifts in character unfold against a vibrant orchestral backdrop. The dialogue between soloist and orchestra is dynamic and assertive, establishing an energetic and extroverted atmosphere from the outset.

The middle section offers a striking contrast. Here, the texture becomes more transparent, and the orchestration lighter and more refined. The solo violin adopts a cantabile character, emphasizing sustained melodic lines, expressive phrasing, and tonal warmth. This central episode provides a moment of intimacy and reflection, highlighting the instrument’s lyrical potential within a more restrained orchestral setting.

In the final section, the virtuosic material of the opening returns with renewed intensity. The orchestral writing becomes fuller and more concentrated, reinforcing the brilliance of the solo line. The heightened orchestral weight and increased dramatic drive lead to a powerful and radiant conclusion.

The title T.B. carries a personal reference: the work was originally inspired by a musician named Tibor. The phonetic resemblance between his nickname and the spoken form of “T.B.” in English lends the title a subtle, intimate meaning while remaining concise and internationally accessible.
