A concert piece in Andante-Allegro form. The Andante material returns for further development, and leads into a robust, march-like treatment that grows increasingly insistent and intense, culminating in a fanfare-like brass presentation. Rather than leading to a conclusion, this transitions into another developmental section. The music grows quieter and slower. After a thoughtful section, the band returns to the original material and builds up yet again for a return to the Allegro. A final statement of the first theme concludes the piece.
