After riding the attraction for the first time, Mr. Goldsmith was moved to tears. The creators feared something might be wrong, but he quickly reassured them: “No, everything is fine.”
He went on to explain that he had two great loves in his life—music and flying. Some of his fondest childhood memories were soaring in gliders with his father among the dunes where LAX would one day stand.
To him, the Soarin’ Over California film was beautiful and magical. “I’d do anything to be part of this project,” Goldsmith said with conviction. “I’d even score the film for free.”
This is the theme park version, not an arrangement. It was engraved from the full orchestral score that Mark McKenzie orchestrated.
