I agree with the 1st reviewer. Great book for second-year strings, although the basic exercises using each rhythm based on the name of a pie can be used with students who are beginners. The songs based on each rhythm are in varying keys and get progressively more difficult as the rhythms get harder. I wish Sally O'Reilly would adapt her books for high school aged students. The concept is great and is a great way to teach orchestral bowings. I love her books!
