Storm Clouds Bassoon - Digital Sheet Music

This piece has many places to play with a strong sound. You should also play with a very steady beat; this would be a great piece to practice with a metronome before you start playing with a piano player. Pay close attention beginning at measure 37 to make sure your eighth notes are perfectly even. The beginning of this piece should sound like dark storm clouds billowing up high. At measure 13, the softer sound and the piano part could make this sound like some rays of sun are coming through the clouds. The skies darken again with the piano part at measure 21, and when the bassoon part begins at 25, the winds are stronger. Measure 37 brings back the dark clouds even more, the subito p at measure 43 should be a surprise, and build to a strong finish.Time: ca. 1:30-2:00Range: G2-Ab3Key: C minorI tend to use this with first year bassoonists.Once the student has purchased this piece, and adjudicator’s copy may be made. Teachers may purchase individual copies for each student’s use. Studio licensing is not available.
