As you practice this, make sure you are very confident in your steady beat and your rhythms. The piano part is often playing something very different from you and it can be tricky to play together if you’re not very certain of your own counting. At measure 37, the piano has the melody and you have a countermelody. This is your time to support the piano player and let them lead for a while. Measure 52, perhaps a few clouds float by for a while, or the breeze picks up a bit. The piece ends with the bassoon having the melody one last time, and the whole piece fades out gently.

I tend to use with: first or second year bassoonists transferring from another instrument, or second year bassoon students. The piano part is not simple.
