Sound and Motion Studies, Book 1 for piano Piano Method - Digital Sheet Music

Easy Piano, Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.965605

Composed by John Oliver. This edition: pdf, streaming. Contemporary, Instructional. Score. 15 pages. Johnolivermusic #5720519. Published by johnolivermusic (A0.965605).

I created these studies to introduce young pianists to contemporary piano techniques. The studies are increasingly challenging. Future editions may expand the number of pieces in each series.

The studies are collected into three series of compositions:

Series 1: Wind in the Bells

These studies for the young pianist require an upright or grand piano for their execution because they rely on resonance effects created by silently depressing keys to release the dampers on those notes, creating a resonance effect when related notes are played. Do not use the damper pedal.

Series 2: Syncopation Studies

These pieces demonstrate various syncopation techniques. Of particular interest is the alternate notation of the same music that demonstrates how the brain processes the music but the end result should sound the same. (These pieces can be performed on a digital piano.)

Series 3: Résonances Mysterieuses

These pieces require a thorough knowledge of the notes on the ledger lines and are for the intermediate to advancing pianist. They are to be played on an upright or grand piano for maximum resonance effect.

I would like to thank Dr. William Bruneau for his continued support of my work.
