Skazhi mi Ghospodi, konchinu moyu O Lord Make Known To Me The End Of My Time by Dmitri Stepanovich Bortniansky 4-Part - Sheet Music

By Dmitri Stepanovich Bortniansky

Dmitri Bortniansky studied at the Imperial Court Chapel in St. Petersburg and in Italy where he had his first successes. After ten years in Western Europe, Bortniansky returned to Russia and eventually became Director of the Imperial Court Chapel. This piece is taken from a collection of 35 choral concertos for four voices. Tchaikovsky himself thought this concerto to be the finest of the collection. This piece would make a splendid introduction to the Russian sacred repertory as the vocal ranges are moderate and the classical style is familiar to many choirs.
