It is written on the page as E Minor, but technically it is in E Dorian which is one of the church modes from the medieval times. In Dorian you will hear the 6th note of the minor scale raised, so in E minor the C naturals would be raised to C sharps which gives it a bit of a different flavor that is very beautiful. This arrangement by Stevens is one of the best I have ever heard of a familiar carol. Well worth the price!
