Songbook. Vocal Collection. Pop; Standard. Book. 168 pages. Alfred Music #00-V1127. Published by Alfred Music (AP.V1127).
ISBN 9780757930362. UPC: 029156979947. English.
In 1970 the Ontario government prepared a book of All Time and Old Time Favourites to be available to all Senior Citezen Homes, Clubs and Centers, and adult Charitable Institutions for use by the members, residents, auxiliaries and staff.
But these contained only the words! In 1973 the Markhaven Committe produced a music book to go along with the word. The songs are pitched a little lower, in a key that is easier for seniors to sing, and the arrangements are simple enough for most pianists to be able to sit down and play.

It's okay
I liked the idea that there was a collection of old music. If you are looking for a very basic setting of the tunes, as in 2nd grade level piano, this will work.... though some songs are just the refrain and not verses too. So the accompaniment has been dumbed down. Actually found the songs I had been looking for online elsewhere for free with their original accompaniment & verses. They should've taken the time to replace one song that is listed but is not included. Also a bit depressing knowing that this was a nursing home project, that the people are on the cover are long since dead as the copyright was from the 1970's.
