I wrote this arrangement for the end of the second year. The arrangement will use a low 1 D# a couple times, as well as a shift to 2nd position for cellos. The upbeat pickups in the violins are likely to be the greatest rhythmic challenge in the piece. My students had no trouble at all with the iconic Seven Nation Army rhythm at the beginning.
I did end up doing a bit of a divisi in measure 17 with the violas and cellos that isn't written here: I had half the section play an additional pizzicato note on beat 3 (the same as they have been repeating) and come in with bow on beat 1, while half played it as I notated it. I thought this helped the transition so that the bass note alone on beat 3 wasn't all alone. But, I had large cello and viola sections (about 8 students each). If your orchestra is large enough to do this divide, that may be helpful, but if not it's certainly fine as written.
