An original work written for SATB a cappella. The text is in Spanish and is taken from Psalm 51. The work is in ternary form (ABA). The A section follows a homophonic texture comprised of tonal harmonies that contain a certain amount of dissonance, with the occasional tone cluster (reminiscent of Arvo Pärt's music). The B section deviates from the A section, and become much more polyphonic. The basses lay a quasi-ostinato pattern, while the upper voices enter independently at various points of imitation. The section ends with a strong and intense climax, which then leads back to the return of section A.
