Royal Oak is one of the most delightful hymn tunes associated with the text, All Things Bright and Beautiful. Supposedly the tune is named for a tree. The tree being in Shrophire, England. Presumably King Charles II hid under the tree during the Battle of Worcester, 1651. Many scholars believe the tune is even older than the 1700's. It is such a delightful melody. This is an arrangement you will most assuredly want to include in your piano repetoire.
