Early Ensemble Music
I use this volume in my small violin studio, especially with those playing in a worship situation. The parts can be played without keyboard accompaniment. You can challenge an advanced player to double the melody an octave higher. The chorale melodies span the Church Year, so you have opportunities to play from this volume for many months. I chose to own the music and loan it to students for each upcoming performance. You do need to purchase multiple copies, as it is published in a score format for all players on one page. We often perform a chorale more than once, with students changing parts at each verse. I don't find it a problem; it teaches the students another performance skill to read their own musical line. There is a keyboard part available to enrich the ensemble sound - recommended.
