Similar to a prairie, the Russian Steppes have grasses and shrubs but no forests. This piece will evoke winds blowing across wide open spaces with a right hand ostinato riding across a cello-like left hand melody. In Gminor, Russian Steppes will challenge right hand stamina and left hand expressivity.
The right hand will have the melody in octaves during the middle section but then gives the melody back to the left hand.
