Mass for a New Millennium, completed in the year 2000, was intended be an uplifting and hopeful work for a new era of peace and prosperity after what many viewed as a tumultuous 20th century. It is a multi-movement concert work, constructed in similar form to the concert masses of Mozart and Haydn. The music is very melodically based, with regular changes in meter throughout that follow the natural phrasing of the texts. The instrumentation for organ, harp, oboe, timpani, and mallet percussion gives the work a symphonic feel, without the major cost of hiring a large instrumental ensemble. Smaller ensembles may find the version for piano and oboe accompaniment to be perfectly suitable. While Mass for a New Millennium was written now over twenty years ago, its intention remains the same as our world continues to struggle for peace and equality. May be performed with Oboe and Piano only or with Organ, Oboe, Harp, and Percussion. Vocal and piano score: WW1751 Oboe part only (for oboe and piano version): WW1751C Full conductor's score for oboe, harp, organ, and percussion accompaniment: WW1751A Instrumental parts for oboe, harp, organ, and percussion version: WW1751B.
