Debussy was considered the first Impressionist composer, and as such he developed his own style of harmony and tonal coloring. The French title "Reverie" translates as Daydreams - and, yes, the piece is ethereal, other-worldly, subtle, and imaginatively infused with colors. It transfers well to the medium of a String Trio, and this arrangement is modestly simplified to let the purely unassuming melody shine through without a lot of busy background.
