Reverie by Claude Debussy String Trio - Digital Sheet Music

By Claude Debussy

"Reverie" was written in 1890 by Claude Debussy as a solo work for piano. Debussy was considered the first Impressionist composer, and as such he developed his own style of harmony and tonal coloring. The French title "Reverie" translates as Daydreams - and, yes, the piece is ethereal, other-worldly, subtle, and imaginatively infused with colors. It transfers well to the medium of a String Trio, and this arrangement is modestly simplified to let the purely unassuming melody shine through without a lot of busy background.
