Here is a dignified trumpet trio that harkens back to the times of kings, castles, and celebration. An intermediate piece, this trio is great for a brass ensemble to play at recitals, solo & ensemble, or simple play for fun. The piece helps build ensemble listening skills, and matching articulations between players.
The piece features a 6/8 time signature and syncopation. The rhythms mostly move in parallel, so players can focus on blending their sounds while listening for who has the melody line. The harmonies are built on thirds, so players can aim for balanced timbres as an ensemble. Dynamic markings range from piano to forte and the terraced volume levels in between. Articulations are non legato to keep the regal atmosphere, with some marcato accents for contrast. Add this bright brass ensemble piece to your program for a mix of fantasy and fanfare!
Average Performance time: ca 1:45
