Prepare the Way, O Zion is a well known Swedish Advent carol, here arranged for SATB voices and optional congregation. The first and last verses are mostly unison singing with the congregation invited to join in. The second verse is a simple two part canon, while the third verse is a straight four-part chorale, optionally a capella, with slightly different harmonization from the traditional carol. The text is an adaptation using a composite of a translation of the original Swedish along with variations of other commonly heard settings. This arrangement would work well for a modest choir looking for a new Advent anthem with minimal challenges.
