This beloved prayer is set here for unaccompanied voices in a very spare and quiet dialog between baritone solo and mostly 3-part (SAB) choral texture. The prayer ends in 4-part texture (SATB), harmonically rich passages that finish in an ethereal and suspended reflection at the words, Eternal life.

Absolutely gorgeous!
I am the organist and choir master of a thriving Episcopal church with an accomplished choir which generally prefers traditional choral music.Easier than it sounds, this is an amazing piece of music. The three-part sections are reminiscent of Copland. The final four-part section is the most challenging, but vividly paints a picture of rebirth to eternal life. You will not go wrong with this piece.
